Public Access Defibrillator

We are proud to provide the village with its only ‘Public Access Defibrillator’ which is installed in a locked cabinet in the porch of our premises in Headcorn Road and available 24/7.

Look for this symbol.

To access the defibrillator  you will need the unlock code for the cabinet.

999 callers to the ambulance service, in appropriate cases, will be given the code (please note this is the only way to get  access to the defibrillator                              and control its whereabouts.)

Simple to use

AEDs are designed to be used by laypersons who ideally should have received AED training.

The AED automatically diagnoses the heart rhythm and determines if    a shock is needed. The unit will tell the user that a shock is needed, but the user must tell the machine to do so, usually by pressing a button. The user cannot override a “no shock” advisory by an AED.

Independent of the ambulance service and subject to his availability you can contact Chris Wheal after calling 999

on 07979 864929, to provide voluntary emergency first aid help including defibrillator prior to the arrival of paramedics. You can also register with Chris to be advised when further defibrillator training sessions will be available locally.
